I've been reading stories of David and I'm captivated. The way he poured out his heart is moving. The way he didn't care who saw him dancing and worshiping God was encouraging to me. He was a King. Yes, he had many faults but none of that mattered because God found him blameless in his sight. It's all over psalms how he feared his enemies. He wrote beautiful hymns. He had a family and a nation who looked up to him. But, none of that mattered because the only attention he wanted was God's and that was it. No one came close to his relationship with God. He knew what he needed. And he sought after it daily. The way he writes tells stories of how desperate he was for Gods love and attention. He screwed up horribly an affair, woman gets pregnant, murders the husband and then goes crazy because the lies that he told to keep himself from getting into trouble. He mastered the art of lying. He mastered the art of forgiveness. Through all his messes he somehow came out clean. Do you understand that you too can be forgiven of all the mess you've got yourself into and because God is so gracious and so forgiving that he sent his son to carry out our punishment. You see, he loves us so much that his one and only son was sent to cover our butts. We don't deserve it. We don't deserve the kindness. We don't deserve that kind of love. But, because he is our Father he is Just and willing to forgive our biggest offenses. David understood this kind of love did he abuse it at times? Yes, who doesn't? But, the point here is if King David can get forgiveness then you sir, miss can get it too because this love is so great it overlooks our sins. Love is a very powerful thing. I hope you know just how loved you are and that nothing can separate you from it.
